Does the world need another photo of a flower? Probably not. Nobody needs art to survive, either. In my travels, I am always looking for color contrasts. It is an effect of bright light, chrominance, together with dark colors or shadow. The effect grabs the eye and wrenches the head around. Then there is camera technique, which when you have a bright subject that doesn't fill the frame, and flowers rarely do, allows you to provide the captured image an effect of a brush stroked diffuse background. In result: Photorealism instead of something simply documentary.
The images in this gallery will look striking when reproduced on metallic paper and at the largest of sizes.
